How to Register Custom Name Servers for Your Domain at WebHost4Free

Name servers determine where your domain connects on the internet. If you plan to use custom or private name servers for a domain registered with WebHost4Free, you can configure them directly from the WebHost4Free Control Panel in just a few steps.

WebHost4Free offers two simple methods to create and register new Name Server (NS) records for your domain.

Method 1: Register Name Servers from the Domain List

  1. Log in to your WebHost4Free Control Panel and open My Domains > Registered Domains.
  2. Find the domain you want to manage and locate the Edit Name Servers / WHOIS options.
  3. Click the Edit Name Servers icon associated with the domain.
  4. When the DNS Management window opens, select the Manage Domain-Based NS tab.
  5. Enter your custom name server (for example, ns1.yourdomain.com) and its matching IP address.
  6. Click Register to activate the new name server.

Method 2: Register Name Servers from Domain Details

  1. Sign in to the WebHost4Free Control Panel and navigate to My Domains > Registered Domains.
  2. Click directly on the domain name you wish to edit.
  3. The Domain Details window will appear. Open the DNS Servers & Settings section and choose Register / Edit Name Servers.
  4. In the Manage Domain-Based NS area, enter the name server and IP address information.
  5. Click Register to save the new NS record.
